During my time at the UC we had quarterly sit downs with our supervisor to touch base about how we’re doing as designers, go over our work, and establish any goals going forward. It was in my 3rd quarter that I was assigned to cover the entertainment department’s design needs, and it was in one of my meetings that my supervisor mentioned that she wanted to see me push my typographic skills further. Ever eager to accept a challenge I started brainstorming how I could make a type oriented poster layout. I ended up going for a Bauhaus inspired design, and with Bauhaus comes the Futura font. At one point in one of my more abstract art classes my professor noted my affinity for straight lines and right angles, so I decided to lean into that extra hard for this project in particular.
